Originally made by The Oakley Machine Co., this machine table base was cast most likely before WWII in the 1930’s or 1940’s. However, records indicate Oakley was still building machines into the 1950’s. The exact age is unknown as the machine that was mated to it has long been discarded. However, this youngster is still as authentic and American made as any of the others in my collection.

I have dedicated countless hours of meticulously breathing life back into the old stoke sander table. For me, this is so much more than mechanical repair and restoration, this is exciting and passionate creation of art. This particular crank table base had a beautiful paint job on it when it was acquired. Unfortunately, it also had two others underneath that indicated the finish was not authentic. In order to bring out a brilliant finish, countless hours were spent stripping the base of everything except the natural cast iron. The table raises effortlessly and can be easily performed with one hand. It has been brought back to life as a unique office desk, coffee table, or dining room table. It has served as my personal dining room table at one point. It is the ideal size for a personal residence, or as an incredible desk for your office. Due to the 36” steel rails, it can accommodate a plethora of different glass top sizes as well. If you don’t like the flat steel rails or pivot blocks in the pictures, worry not! I can fabricate flat steel arms, boxed steel arms, or craft natural wood arms instead. Rest easily because with either of those other arm options, there is not even an additional cost involved! The height is fully adjustable up and down with a few turns of the handwheel. Adjustments in height from 30” to well over 40” (with pivot blocks. Total max and min heights will change with different arms) This puts the scope of possibilities in your hands. Soon you could be working, crafting, dining, or simply relaxing around this genuine and authentic relic of the industrial age.

This once forgotten and disregarded work of art from the industrial age could have been destined for the scrap heap, instead, it has been revitalized and reborn into a conversation and centerpiece for years to come. Don’t delay in making it yours or messaging me about customizing it your way!
